Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has expressed his hope that»this can be my season» following his fantastic hat-trick at the 5-2 win .
Abraham’s treble on Saturday saw him spike to the top of the Premier League scoring charts with seven targets, at which Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero afterwards joined him.
The 21-year-old, who had gone with netted back-to-back doubles is expecting his run of form will help him cement his position in the first team of Chelsea.
Abraham told Chelsea’s official website:»I have been working hard and this really is my own first season. It’s up to me to keep revealing the gaffer (Frank Lampard) in every single game and training session which I am hungry and I need success.
«He told me in half-time to stay on and get the hat-trick, and so I believed and stayed focused. I’ve just got to be prepared to bring every chance that comes my way. I’m working hard and I’m just thrilled to find that pay off with my intentions [on Saturday] in addition to the three factors.»
Abraham was among a trio of young Chelsea academy graduates for whom it was a day — the others being defender Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount.
England U21 Tomori opened the scoring from around 30 yards — his first Chelsea goal in the 31st minute with a strike.
Abraham included:»I was thinking’don’t shoot, Fikayo’ but everyone is delighted for him. In training, it’s been trying daily and smashing on windows but [against Wolves] it paid off — it was a wonderful strike.
«We (Abraham, Tomori and Mount) have been the last people off the pitch as we were talking how we have all scored in exactly the exact same game for Chelsea. We’ve heard of this because we were small boys and we all made it happen.»
Chelsea boss Lampard heaped praise using the striker continuing to settle his manager, Abraham following the game.
He told Sky Sports:»Tammy is [looking the role ] and that’s work, having gone out on loan and scoring a great deal of targets at the Championship, having annually at the Premier League and I think he feels the responsibility of this Chelsea shirt since he needs to. The past few games speak for themselves.
«The only real challenge for Tammy today is will he keep doing it? Can he get better and better because how he is playing, he is a huge danger for all of us up front and there is rivalry within from [Olivier] Giroud and [Michy] Batshuayi therefore that he wants to keep it at the level and get even better.»
Speaking on Sunday Supplement, ESPN’s Natalie Gedra stated:»The number of complaints have we heard from Chelsea fans about giving younger players a better chance? You find that the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham and they’re ready for this.
«Chelsea are yanking off very fascinating things this year. It’s entertaining to see Chelsea. You see them making errors but fixing those errors.
«It is a learning process for Chelsea and the youthful players, however you see Abraham, he’s a great finisher. He is good in the air, he is great with the ball at his feet and he’s got a great deal of speed. Mason Mount came from the federal team which reflects well on the club. Chelsea are more exciting this year.»
