Japan are unsatisfied by reaching their first World Cup quarter-final, states flanker Lappies Labuschagne.
The Brave Blossoms are among the residence World Cup’s stories, topping Pool A to reach the knockout stages for the first time.
They perform with South Africa, who they upset to get a spot in the previous four to Sunday, in the 2015 World Cup.
Labuschagne says they’re»not planning to stop » and will»continue playing each other and being one group».
The 30-year-old is just only one of two members of the Japan group to be born in South Africa but says Japan is his own»new house».
«I love South Africa and the people there but I also love Japan and everybody else here,» Labuschagne explained. «That is our team. This has become our residence.
«We want to create everyone in Japan proud, everyone within this camp, this specific particular group, we’ve worked really tough to reach the goal we set up for ourselves»
Japan’s triumph over South Africa was among the greatest consequences in World Cup history however their trainer Jamie Joseph says his side won’t be drawing on the success.
«In fact, I have been trying to forget about it for the previous four years,» Joseph explained. «Everyone spoke about this, but we are a different team, different players»
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi came off the bench four decades ago in Brighton and stated it was a»very tough» defeat.
He stated it had»stuck with» them until they conquer the Brave Blossoms 41-7 at a warm-up for the Planet Cup.
«It is something which people don’t ever want to go through again,» Kolisi stated.
«But they are a far better team today, and it was great to play that game ahead of the World Cup, merely to find that monkey off our back.
«Now it’s another game . We’re likely to get since they have improved as a group to be at our finest — they’re much better. So, we’re excited about the challenge.»
Japan winger Kotaro Matsushima scored five tries at the pool point, the joint of any player, also Kolisi confessed he’s an»amazing player» but said his side have nothing specific in place to beat him.
«We have nothing special to observe one person — their entire team have been performing well, and he’s getting great chances because the staff are doing well with ball-in-hand,» Kolisi stated.
