John Oxx admits he would have preferred longer to have prepared Skitter Scatter for her crack.
A Group One-winning juvenile for Patrick Prendergast transferred to John Oxx once her coach chose to relinquish his license and join forces with all the handler.
She made her comeback at Tipperary and led into Newmarket as a fancy for the 1000 Guineas, however picked up an accident last week.
While Oxx had been happy with her rush the 16-day difference between races is a concern.
«She’s in great form and she came out of her latest race in good shape,» said Oxx.
«She is a pretty uncomplicated filly to train and also has a wonderful attitude to her job. She is very ready, not an over-exuberant worker, but she does enough and she’s generous.
«We have been pleased with her because her race. We’re delighted to receive her there.
«She ran a good race, she didn’t win, which I’d have liked her to do, but it was ideal really since she had a wonderful race. She got tired and awakened in the last furlong.
«We were lucky to be able to get her there and get to run her good earth. It could happen to be a bog and what could we have achieved — would we have conduct her or not.
«We got away with this. Unfortunately it’s only 16 days into the Matron today, I would have preferred three weeks, but it’s what it is and we all hope now that she can advance to run another race that is good.
«It has not been perfect, but we have to be glad that she’s been in great shape all along and has kept moving the right way.»
