Galway have been All-Ireland Camogie champions for a third period, after a 3-14 to 0-17 triumph over Kilkenny in Croke Park.
The match was played before a crowd at the Jones’ Road place as the game was appreciated by 24,730.
The title had not been won by the Westerners since 2013, when they backed up their National League title with all the campaign where they conquer both Kilkenny and Cork, and several can question their triumph.
The Tribeswomen scored three objects which proved crucial, as they were helped by a brace out of a Niamh Hanniffy effort plus Ailish O’Reilly to 0-10 lead at the break to some 3-7. On the other hand, the ants pulled it back into 3 points upcoming injury time, and worked their way back in the tie.
Since they ran out winners, But a run of Galway points steered them house.
