Promising Chelsea teenager Billy Gilmour has already recently signed up a new contract with Chelsea.
After becoming the first Scot to play in 17 decades and producing his Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United before the break, midfielder Gilmour has signed until 2023.
18, the Scotland U21 international, showcased in the initial two pre-season games of Frank Lampard in Dublin in July before returning to the development squad, in which he scored away at Manchester City.
He explained:»It is quite fascinating for me and my loved ones to sign up this offer.
«Frank has come in and everybody is buzzing, training is really good and there’s a high standard to what we do. There are exciting times ahead and hopefully I can work hard to secure opportunities too.
«It was amazing to create my introduction and for the gaffer to show his trust in me in a tight match.
«I thank him for his faith in me, now I want to be certain it wasn’t only a one-off and maintain showing him I’ve got a whole lot more to provide.
«I wish to make sure I’m involved with the senior staff as far as I can be and attempt to push for more looks.»
Glaswegian tyro Gilmour, that joins Ruben Loftus-Cheek,» Mason Mount along with Marc Guehi in agreeing contract extensions was endorsed by Kenny Miller to be fast-tracked into the Scotland group.
When the growth side face Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Friday he could feature alongside Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
