Wigan 26-8 Castleford: Tigers face anxious wait after Warriors loss

Castleford missed out on the chance to secure their place as they are beaten by Wigan 26-8 in the DW Stadium.
Second position was secured by the Warriors in the table with the win, however for Cas, their season may now be finished.
They started the nighttime level with Hull ahead of their fittings and, as a consequence of this loss, will soon likely be going on vacation on Monday if the Black and Whites beat against St Helens on Friday.

Morgan Smithies completed the scoring for the Warriors on.
The Tigers dominated the opening 15 minutes and also took the lead at the ninth with Ellis after Wigan didn’t clean the ruck slotting over a penalty.
Jake Trueman was held inches short for Castleford, while Peter Mata’utia and Paul McShane both created runs around the center.
Wigan turned defence with Williams stepping past the attempted tackle to move over to get a 4-2 advantage of Mike McMeeken.
A mistake in Dan Sarginson gave Castleford ownership 20 metres from Wigan’s lineup and Ellis went agonisingly close to putting his side back in front after Trueman’s kick hit the post and bounced straight back to him, but Hardaker was available to clear his lines.
Wigan were finding it difficult to finish their sets of coughing up possession, with Romain Navarrete twice guilty.
Greenwood made a tackle to let Ellis the chance to level the scores, but he sent his attempt wide.
He had the opportunity to redeem himself because Wigan led 4-2 at the 25, however, the post struck.
Two tries in three second-half minutes placed Wigan in control of this competition. Hardaker took advantage of a error from Greg Minikin to get down from his kick. He added the extras for a 10-2 lead.
Moments later Sarginson made a run to put Wigan in a great attacking position, the ball has been sent across to the left and right Greenwood was on hand to touch down in the corner.
Castleford had chances to return in this game but they could find no way through the resolute defence of Wigan.
Their job was made even harder when Sene-Lefao was shipped off for moving in along with his knees.
Before Cheyse Blair scored about the hooter for Castleford, while Smithies crashed over hardaker extended Wigan’s lead for messing up at the play-the-ball.
