Even though it’s not the fight we are hoping for, Tyson»Gypsy King» Fury is back in action as he squares off against Tom Schwarz on June 15 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada. It was anticipated that Fury would play his epic split-decision draw with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, but talks fell through and Fury has opted to fight Schwarz. The Gypsy King is a -3000 favorite with the German, Schwarz, coming back in +1100.

Fury (-3000) returned into the squared circle in June 2018 after a virtually triple layoff since winning the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring and lineal heavyweight names against Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015. The England native dealt with mental health issues and a drug and alcohol addiction in those three years before cleaning up himself and making a title battle. Gypsy King earned two tune-up fights before his split-decision draw with Deontay Wilder in December.
The 30-year-old brings into this particular bout an undefeated record of 27-0-1, with 19 wins coming by knockout. Fury is arguably the best true fighter at the heavyweight division, with all outstanding head motion and footwork to create his enemies overlook their strikes while selecting them apart with stiff jabs. The former champ doesn’t have enormous power behind his cries but is very effective and, despite his size, is very hard to hit.
Schwarz (+1100) is laying his best 24-0 record online as he makes his United States debut. The 24-year-old most recently earned a second-round knockout to keep his WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight name.
Schwarz has adequate knockout power with 16 of the 24 professional wins end in that manner. He does a good job stretching on his cries with precision and functions nicely behind his jab. However, he does not have tremendous footwork to find clean entries but rather capitalizes if his foes stand still.
This is a huge step up in competition for Schwarz and that I believe he is going to be outclassed in this battle. Fury is a master in making his opponents miss, including against Wilder when the champ only landed 17 percentage of his attacks. Gypsy King’s herky-jerky style makes him incredibly difficult to be aggressive against and it masks his attacks with this style, not knowing when the punches are still coming.
