Stokes helped before filming in the Ashes, England win the men’s World Cup for the first time.
Gloucestershire all-rounder Ryan Higgins essex spinner Simon Harmer and Warwickshire batsman Dom Sibley are nominated.
The winner will be announced in London on Wednesday, 2 October.
28, stokes, will be seeking to become the sixth man to acquire the PCA Players’ Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year.
South African Harmer, 30, May include the County Championship title on Thursday and aided Essex to victory.
24, zimbabwe-born Higgins, has played a key part as Gloucestershire secured promotion back to Division One of the County Championship for the first time since 2005.
Sibley, 24, has been called up to the England Test team for the winter’s tour of New Zealand after a prolific year for the Bears, scoring 1,324 Championship runs in at average of 69.68 prior to their final match of the season against Yorkshire.
The Prior Surrey opener has been nominated for the Young Player of the Year, together with Somerset’s Tom Banton, England call-up Zak Crawley and Gloucestershire’s James Bracey, of Kent.
All-rounder Katherine Brunt, spinner Sophie Ecclestone and hitter Amy Jones are nominated with Ecclestone looking to acquire the award for the 2nd year, for the Women’s Player of the Summer.
