Zlatan Ibrahimovic broke LA Galaxy’s club record for goals in a season in their victory over Sporting Kansas City on Sunday night and netted a hat-trick.
Even the 37-year-old scored his 25th, 24th and 26th goals of the effort snap a four-match winless run.
Ibrahimovic scored his first goal following his first penalty was rescued before surpassing the past goalscoring record of Carlos Ruiz with 2 strikes.
A double from Sebastian Lletget, Uriel Antuna plus joe Corona assisted Galaxy.
Ibrahimovic has scored 48 goals in 51 matches in the MLS.
«I think I am the best ever to play in MLS. And that’s without joking,» Ibrahimovic stated.
«Scoring goals is simple, you just have to be like Zlatan and it is forthcoming,» said the former Manchester United striker, who’s just two goals behind leading scorer Carlos Vela.
«I try to help the team in the very best manner and that’s by scoring goals. I felt and make it easier for everybody and I have to continue, that is to score goals and I need to help my staff in the manner.
«It’s a fantastic outcome, it was a great game.
«The outcome says something else but the first half was very even, we performed with a great team that plays good football. In the second we were more powerful and we had been scoring so that was the gap, if we got the chances.
«It’s fine, we still have four games to move. To acquire, to find the confidence, even to score many goals for the goal difference. Everybody did a fantastic job, even if we had been a tiny bit tired at the finish, but we did a pretty good job.»
LA Galaxy went into a point forward of San Jose, fifth place at the Western Conference and two facing Portland.
