Slalom, a second to Japan at the Grand Prix de Paris, has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Andre Fabre had been planning on shooting the three-year-old straight back to ParisLongchamp at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe to get a crack at Enable.
Given Japan has beaten Crystal Ocean at the Juddmonte International at York he’d have been well worth his position in the line-up.
However, he is now on the sidelines.
Fabre explained:»Slalom has experienced a drawback, unfortunately.
«Sadly he’ll be out for the remainder of the season. It is a pity, I was expecting some big races .»
No decision has yet been made over whether the unbeaten Earthlight will have his final start of the season in Britain.
Following his victory in a very strong renewal of the Prix Morny at Deauville, Fabre intimated he’d like to run at Newmarket sponsored Sheikh Mohammed, by his owner.
«We have not fully determined yet, we’re waiting to find out what happens with a few others,» said Fabre.
