Ger Lyons has Contributed Siskin the green light to Participate in a renewal of Their Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday week.
Unbeaten in four starts along with a Group One winner already, Siskin is place to meet Charlie Appleby Aidan O’Brien’s and Goodwood scorer Pinatubo Armory.
«He is in great form and he’s being driven by his coach with the National Stakes on Sunday week in your mind, even if I would be quite worried shooting on Pinatubo!» Lyons informed www.irishchampionsweekend.ie.
«He was incredibly striking at Goodwood, however Siskin includes a Group One win under his belt, so even though he’s a fantastic bit below three of these on ratings and ratings don’t lie.
«That said, he did what he had been asked to perform, and I have been very happy with him. I’d have no difficulty on fine ground taking on anyone on seven furlongs and anything beats Pinatubo will likely be champion two-year-old.»
Siskin dealt out and Lyons admitted to being surprised.
«He has impressed me. The Phoenix was a case of no horse actually liking the ground, but everyone was telling me he would struggle with it because of his pedigree and in the vehicle park beforehand I was getting worried,» said Lyons.
«I hadn’t ever really thought about it a lot beforehand to be fair, but a lot of folks were talking about the ground. He showed a wonderful attitude as well as all going well, he is being trained as a Guineas horse following season.»
As for his other major hope over the weekend, Who is Steph at the Moyglare»Jewels» Blandford Stakes, Lyons would have to see loads of rain to let her take her chance.
«She is possibly my favorite horse in the yard, but it’s rare enough she’s her floor. She isn’t quite a Group One filly and, in that league, everything needs to be in her favor,» he explained.
