Week 3 of the 2019 NFL preseason favored Tennessee Titans at Nashville and comes using a game between the Pittsburgh Steelers to an end on Sunday night.

We are used to viewing NFL activity on Sundays? Well, only one Sunday game of the preseason in Week 3 and it will be the final day of Sunday NFL until Week 1 of the regular season. That’s because all teams play on Thursday at Week 4 of the exhibition program. The Pittsburgh Steelers head to the Tennessee Titans to close out Week 3.
Both finished regular season and missed the playoffs. The Titans could have maintained a Wild-Card place if they had won Week 17 at home vs. Indianapolis, however, the Colts were clearly exceptional and rolled into a 33-17 victory. Beginning Titans QB Marcus Mariota overlooked the match injured and Blaine Gabbert was unsurprisingly awful in his position.
Pittsburgh needed a Baltimore property loss to Cleveland and a Week 17 win over Cincinnati for the Steelers to choose the AFC North. Pittsburgh did its job with a victory — with no star receiver Antonio Brown in his final act of defiance. However, the Ravens and a win over the Browns didn’t cooperate.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is a in his preseason profession and 2-0 this year despite not enjoying beginning QB Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers played with their first two at home, edging Tampa Bay 30-28 in Week 1 and then beating on Kansas City. Going by the background of Tomlin, Big Ben and a bit must play on Sunday. Joshua Dobbs and Mason Rudolph are competing for the job, together with most covering the Steelers thinking Rudolph is top.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel is 1-1 this year — Tennessee has yet to win a home exhibition game. The Titans dropped 22-17 in the home to New England but led all the game and then were first Week 1 winners at Philadelphia 27-10. A late TD pass won it . The Titans offense and mariota has only played four series thus far for Vrabel but would the entire first half of the one.
Top running back Derrick Henry has to perform in the preseason because of a calf injury but did return to practice this past week. If this means that he would go in this one, not clear. No. 1 tight end Delanie Walker broke his ankle in Week 1 final year and had not played last week at the Patriots. He even caught a TD pass. The Titans’ offense just isn’t the same with Walker, the greatest tight end in franchise history. Meanwhile, the Mariota’s copy Ryan Tannehill was great this preseason having a 130.8 passer rating, completing 19 of 27 for 214 yards. Some believe he might slip the job out of Mariota at any stage this year.
These teams played at the 2018 preseason, in addition in Week 3 but in Pittsburgh. The Steelers won 16-6. Big Ben, which makes his preseason debut of’18, was 11-for-18 for 114 yards and a touchdown in three string. Mariota was and didn’t play with a lot. He overlooked for that which would have been a very long touchdown on Tennessee’s starting drive, wide-open Corey Davis.
We’ll take the Titans here just as I’m certain they’d love to end that house preseason losing series.
