With just under four weeks before training camp, the future of wide receiver Josh Gordon remains unknown inside and outside of the Patriots locker room.
Gordon and quarterback Tom Brady worked out together a week, based on Brady’s Instagram. But the wideout stays suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy in December.

Count Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman as one of those that does not know if — or when — the group will be rejoined by Gordon.
«It’s a lifetime situation and you are yanking him… for better,» Edelman said Wednesday, via Barstool Sports. «And selfishly, I need him because he is a really good football player and he will help us.
«I don’t know anything (about whether Gordon will probably be reinstated) going into it. Like, legit. I have asked 30 people within the organization and outside,’Would you understand what’s going to happen?’ And nobody understands not one thing. Thus, we’re just kind of waiting to see exactly what the circumstances will be with him since he would be a really good tool and sitting. He balls.»
Gordon was expected to apply for reinstatement in May, according to the Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, but there has not been any update on his position. Gordon didn’t attend the Patriots’ Super Bowl ring ceremony and has not made any remarks, but remains active.
