Andrew Strauss and greats Geoffrey Boycott have been awarded knighthoods in the resignation honours list of Prime Minister Theresa May.
The set will be recognized for their own services to sport after successful and long careers in county level and international.
Yorkshire opener Boycott is the athletic enthusiast of May and she superbly final year compared her approach into a Boycott innings.
He played 108 Tests between 1964 and 1982, scoring 8,114 runs in a mean of both 47.72 — the first England player to reach 8,000.
Boycott averaged 56,83 because of his first-class livelihood with centuries that were 151 and more than 48,000 runs in all — memorably grading his 100th century at 1977 in an Ashes Test against Australia. Now 78, he commentates on awards.
Fellow opener Strauss played for England and Middlesex runs in 100 Tests.
He had been a part of the 2005 Ashes-winning staff and moved on to captain his country; off, he led the team in the ICC world ranks to number one spot and among the England skippers to acquire Ashes series in the home.
He needed a spell as director of England cricket, instigating the accent about the game that finished at a World Cup victory this summer.
Following the sad death of his spouse Ruth in the rare type of lung cancer, Strauss set up The Ruth Strauss Foundation, also crimson turned for this year’s Ashes Test against Australia.
