I mentioned in my pick that I didn’t think the Toronto Blue Jays must be preferred against anyone now, especially on the road. So, when I saw them as street favorites from the Seattle Mariners, who debut Justus Sheffield, their precious pitching prospect, I jumped around Seattle. Throw in the fact that Toronto had dropped five consecutive games, and the Mariners had won their last three show, and it felt like a excellent worth place.
The game itself has been an affair that saw Sheffield is roughed up by Toronto and jump out to an early lead. The M battled back into the game and revealed a great deal of heart and took charge of the contest. In the end, Seattle came away with the 7-4 success, and we picked up another underdog winner.

Eduardo Rodriguez shut the Padres down all night as he pitched seven shutout innings. And J.D. Martinez provided the firepower as he exploded for a three-hit nighttime, two of which left the playground, along with seven RBI.
Even the Red Sox are trying to remain in the search for the 2nd wild card in the American League and course the Cleveland Indians and the Oakland Athletics for the last playoff spot in the league by six and a half matches. The defending World Series champs have won six out of their past eight matches and must find a means to get a big win tonight against an underachieving Padres team.
For San Diego, the Padres have dropped seven out of their last eleven and three straight games. This group is attempting to discover a way to live. The Padres have been disappointing this year, but they’d like to play spoiler tonight.
Starting for the Red Sox is currently Nathan Eovaldi (1-0 6.69 ERA), also for the Padres it’s Dinelson Lamet (2-2 3.95 ERA). The match is set in eight and a half runs. The Red Sox are all -119 road favorites. First pitch is scheduled to get 5:40 PM PST in PETCO Park in San Diego.
What a difference a season makes for Nathan Eovaldi. Last year, he was the hero of the Red Sox championship series. This year he’s battled inconsistency and injuries all year. He posted results before getting hurt and missing weeks of activity after starting the season in the rotation.
Boston brought back him in late July to be a relief guy from the bullpen, and again he really struggled to stay consistent. Now with Chris Sale Eovaldi is being requested to rejoin the rotation, and Boston wants him to once again be a hero and help carry this team to the postseason.
It’ll be interesting to understand how well Eovaldi pitches tonight contrary to a Padres team that is struggling to score runs. The Padres are over three runs on a game because Tatis obtained hurt.
Dinelson Lamet is currently starting to earn a name for himself this year for San Diego. The second-year man from the Dominican Republic has shown some flashes of being rather good in work this year. Where he ended up pitching seven innings and allowing no runs, he pitched a stone against the Seattle Mariners.
However, the flashes of success have been only that, flashes, as he hasn’t managed to remain consistent enough to be trusted. His ERA was over five runs in five July starts, however he’s been much improved here in August because his ERA is merely 2.50 in 3 looks. The large issue for Lamet is that he simply does not get into games, since he has pitched five innings or less six out of his past eight starts. And that he will certainly have his hands full tonight against a Boston group that is second in the majors in runs scored and on-base percentage, and in batting average.

Nathan Eovaldi is definitely a wild card that is really hard to forecast, but something tells me he finds a way to shut down.
I’ve been preaching all season that Shia bettors place focus about the beginning pitching matchup of a game. As well as Lamet pitching recently, I can see a case being made that Lamet is the better side of the pitching matchup Together with all around the place Eovaldi was this season. But is the fact that the Red Sox would be the general team that is far superior.
Boston has had their own fair share of ups and downs this season, but they still have more wins than the Padres. And this team has practically all their roster from last year’s World Championship team to be totally honest, and I believe that they find a way to back door before it is all said and done.
And to do that, they are going to have find a way to beat groups such as the Padres tonight. And that’s just what I believe will occur. I normally like to bet underdogs like I love the bigger payouts, in the event the cost is perfect but at a spot such as this one I don’t mind laying just a tiny wood. Give that the Boston Red Sox tonight in game 2 from San Diego to me!
